Bookentine TBR 2017

I have decided to participate in the 2017 #bookentine read-a-thon which is hosted by Elly & Michelle at Tea & Titles.  I heard about this read-a-thon from The Blacksheep Reader. You can find the sign up like for the read-a-thon here if you want to join for yourself!

I have a love hate relationship with contemporary's. On one hand if they're done well that it's amazing, but so many contemporary's have let me down that I stopped reading them as much as I used to. I'm hoping that this read-a-thon will help me to discover some hidden gems.
  • #Bookentine is a YA contemporary read-a-thon
  • It runs from 13th February to 20th February
  • There are 3 challenges (so not too stressful!)

The Challenges!

Read a book with red and/or pink on the cover,
Read a book by an author you haven’t read before,
Read a book featuring mental illness or disability.

My 2017 Bookentine TBR

The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West  - I've had this one on my TBR list for so long and I just really need to read it now. I haven't heard much about it but the synopsis sounds really fun and just like it would be a really easy read! (Buy it here)

Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven - I can't wait to read this! I haven't read anything by Jennifer Niven before but I've heard amazing things about her books so I'm very excited. (Buy it here)

My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga - From what I know about this book it's based around depression. A girl decides she wants to commit suicide and goes on an online forum to find a 'suicide partner'. I'm so intrigued by the premise of this book. I can already tell it's going to be a tear jerker. Are any of you participating in the #Bookentine read-a-thon? Have you read any of these books? Or do you intend to? Let me know in the comments!

  1. So happy to have you joining is Kirsty :) The Fill-In Boyfriend is a pretty good contemporary, probably my favourite from Kasie West and I love all her books. I also enjoyed My Heart and Other Blackholes when I read it. Hope you like all your reads :)

  3. I was SO close to also reading My Heart and Other Black Holes for Bookentine! I decided that I would read Every Last Word instead, but I hope you love it!I'm the same way. I don't read contemporary as much solely because I get disappointed a lot as well. Good luck with your TBR! I hope you are loving your books right now. :)
